Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia (BEIM) is
an organisation committed to promote ethics through education, inculcation and
nurturing of values such as honesty, fairness, integrity and self-regulation
among businesses. BEIM is a non-profit organisation incorporated as a company
limited by guarantee under the Companies Act 1965. BEIM was formed in 1997 with
the endorsement and support of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer
Affairs, to create positive awareness in ethics among businesses in
Malaysia. Objectives of Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia 1. To foster an ethical marketplace. 2. To educate and encourage the public and the private sector in ethical business practices. 3. To promote honesty and transparency in business. 4. To create public awareness on unethical practices in the marketplace. 5. To participate and support national, regional and international organisations that encourage similar goals. 6. To recognise individuals and organisations that champion the cause of good business ethics. 7. Promote awareness and understanding on general accepted bussiness norms, ethical percepts, human values and social expectations of society.

 BUSINESS ETHICS FORUM 2006 held on 23rd May 2006 at the Malaysian Institute of Integrity [IIM]. Lead Speaker of the Forum YB Datuk M. Kayveas, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department presented a paper entitled “Workplace Ethics – the Malaysian Dilemma”.
 Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia [BEIM] presented its inaugural award which was named after Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Bin Haji Abdullah, Chairman of BEIM’s Advisory Council. The awardee for TUN DZAIDDIN ETHICS AWARD 2006 is YBhg Datuk Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, Executive Director of the National Economic Action Council and former President of Malaysian Institute of Integrity [IIM].

Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia held its inaugural MALAYSIAN
BUSINESS ETHICS EXCELLENCE AWARD 2005 on 23rd May 2006 at the Malaysian
Institute of Integrity [IIM]. The award was presented by YB Dato’ S.
Veerasingam, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. |
